Goodbyes, New Beginnings & Everything in between!

What an incredible couple of months it has been! So many tears, so many smiles...and so many changes!

Goodbye's.

11/02/2012 - The day Whitney Houston died. We lost the King of pop on the 26th day of June in 2009 and tragically it wasn't long at all before the Queen of pop joined him. In between these devastating deaths we obviously lost Amy Winehouse as well back in July last year.

Whitney has always been a favourite musician of mine (one of the reasons I named my now deceased cat Whitney back in 2008). Like many other tots in the 80s, I'd often dance around to her tunes on MTV or Video Hits. My workout play lists often contain tunes like "I'm every woman", "Step by Step" and "It's not right but it's OK" - and they still do, but now listening to those tunes usually result in a couple of tears mid work out which they didn't before.

It is just so very sad. Houston, Jackson and Winehouse were all original artists...there was nothing manufactured or auto-tuned about them. They wrote their own music, sung their own music and in some cases even produced their own music. To lose three idols in the space of less than three years seems to show one thing - LEGAL DRUGS are just as dangerous (if not more) than drugs that are pointlessly, immorally and ironically illegal. I'm not going to turn this post into a Pro Cannabis entry but I feel it's quite a poignant & valid point to make given the circumstances. Sure, Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston admitted to using illegal substances throughout their lives, however let's just remember what actually killed them in the end, shall we.

May Whitney Houston rest in peace and be the angel in Heaven that she was here on Earth ♥.

14/02/2012 - The day little Emilia left the world after just 4 days of life. On this day, Valentines Day, most people were giving their partners cards or messages with love hearts, or boxes shaped like love hearts full of chocolates - for many of us, this wasn't the case. Our hearts were breaking.

My friend gave birth to her darling little girl at 32 weeks - she was born with Hydrops and a form of Congenital Heart Defect. Such a perfect little girl - dark beautiful hair, big bright eyes and a little rose bud mouth. Even with all the tubes and machines, you could still see what an enchanting, beautiful little girl she really was.

On the 10th February, over 250 of us banded together through Facebook to organise whatever support (financial, practical, emotional) we could for my friend and her family. The group I created resulted in over 250 people from around Australia sharing prayers, money, presents, vouchers, services, trades - you name it. I also organised a Candle Lighting Ceremony on the night of the 11th February - over 100 people around Australia took part and I will always treasure my photo album containing over 100 photos of  lit candles, many with original prayers, messages and poems, all for little Emi.

During her 4 days of life, Emilia showed hundreds of us what love could do. She showed us all what was really important. While our hearts broke for such an angel and her amazing family (particularly her amazing mummy), our hearts also lit up at the sight of nothing but pure kindness. The human race can be a pretty confusing one at times, but for those 4 days, the human race in my eyes was a wonderful, beautiful thing. This precious little angel reminded us all that every single day counts, she also reminded us to take nothing for granted.

Emilia, you were given wings at 4 days old to fly with the other baby angels. Each and every person who knows you (and even those who simply know of you) is a better person for it. Only true angels can say that. R.I.P sweet baby girl ♥.

New Beginnings.

Owen - Well, in a few short days I'll be able to say my little boy is two years old! I am amazed at how quickly the last two years have passed. The time has just flown by and it's amazing to see how much Owen has grown and changed in such a short time.

He had his very first hair cut the other day (he hated every minute of it of course) and looks even more handsome now. Luckily, he seems to have kept his curls! We still have a couple of weeks to go before we have his hearing tested and then we'll be able to get the ball rolling as to getting him the help he (and we) need.

The sensory issues are much the same, however he is becoming more confident with things like finger paint and water. He is also becoming more socially confident at Daycare but this will be a very slow process, we've always been aware of that. At the moment we've gone two steps backwards with food but at least he's still eating. Looking forward to having more answers once we've seen the appropriate doctors and therapists.

I am looking forward to sending a birthday cake and party hats along to Daycare with him, his carers have assured me they'll be taking lots of photos. We'll be having a small party for him next weekend at my parents place where he'll be spoiled rotten with too many presents and too much cake I imagine :-)

Business - It's official. I finally did it. I am now the owner/manager of my own home business. Website and email went live last week. I just got all positive feedback for my first order (3 batches of fudge for a large workplace morning tea) and my labels arrived this morning. Still waiting on business cards and need to buy several items over the next few weeks but it's all under way and going well.

It feels good to have something that's just for me. I will have to go back to work at some stage this year but until then, I am absolutely content with the work I'm doing for myself. I have always wanted to do something like this and I don't mind admitting that I am very proud of myself for having the guts to. I used to be someone who wouldn't even try new things due to the fear of failing - that person is long gone. Failing doesn't scare me. I'd rather fail than never try - in saying that though, this business is already a success in my eyes and it will just keep getting better.

Everything In Between.

Health - I am pretty much half way to my goal weight now and feeling great! I have learnt that I am much stronger (physically) than I knew I was. Some days I am managing up to 2.5 hours exercise, I am also improving with my weights and I'm finding I can dance longer these days as well. The lighter I get, the more energetic I seem to be. I am enjoying giving myself new goals and loving being able to achieve them!

I'm also finding there are just so many options with delicious healthy food. I remember when I would binge eat and buy nothing but crap food this time last year, it would all look the same. I mean take this for an example, when I  didn't care about myself and was eating unhealthy food...here is what a day would look like:

Breakfast - None. Coffee.

Lunch - Plate of potato wedges with or without sauce.

Afternoon - Chocolate or Oreos.

Dinner - Usually contained mince...chilli con carne and rice, or wedges for example. Maybe Bolognaise.

Dessert - Chocolate or Oreos.

Notice what all of that "food" has in common? I never noticed it at the time but I do now. Everything I was eating was brown. Notice how so many foods that are just no good for you are brown, or beige, or white?

No wonder I feel better these days. Everything I eat is colourful, and looks interesting, and looks appealing and doesn't result in feeling....well....bland! Sure, those 'brown' bland foods make a nice treat in moderation now and then, but as a diet? Never again. I can't  imagine what my insides looked like when I was eating that badly. Some days I would eat up to two blocks of chocolate and/or two packets of Oreos. Scary.

It feels good knowing that I've been making decent changes and more aware of things like this for the best part of a year now. It's honestly only in hindsight that I see how serious and dangerous my diet really was. I hated feeling fat and flat all of the time - I would not wish it on anybody. I'm also content in the knowledge that this is a lifestyle change and that I need to lose this weight at a somewhat slower rate than I would lose weight on a 'diet'. I've been Anorexic & Obese & everything in between :-) I know what's realistic, fad and logical. Each to their own, but any sort of diets or strict eating plans just aren't to my liking. They also result in gaining every kilo and then some back and I'm too old to be stuffing around with that sort of nonsense.  Feels good to say that too :-)

Also glad to report that I've only had one flare up of  Fibro this year and it luckily, it only lasted a couple of days. Apart from that, had a sinus/chest infection at the start of this month. Still got the cough (getting better) and a bit of a runny nose sometimes but it'll pass. Always does. On top of that, it looks like I have PCOS but since I'm not willing to even consider any of the treatments (most are hormone related), I can't say I care too much. Nor am I surprised.

That pretty much covers everything...told you it'd been an incredible couple of months!

Until next time,
Em xo.

New Year, New Songs!

It's been a while since I've uploaded any songs so here's a couple of newies! Recordings (albeit dodgy LOL) of myself and Alex (on guitar and vocals) covering Everlong by The Foo Fighters & Dance The Way I Feel by Ou Est Le Swimming Pool.

Really need to get some better recording equipment this year...hey, there's another resolution haha :)

New Years Resolutions!

Yep, it's that time again :) I've made resolutions for the last few years and have stuck to them all.  I have thought long and hard about what goals I'd like to achieve next year and have come up with the following:

In 2012, I resolve to:

1) Lose the remaining weight, sensibly.

2) Be more spontaneous, try new things & don't think so much.

3) Stop worrying about money.

4) Be myself - confidently and ignore/discard anyone who has a problem with that.

5) Let go of the fears that hold me back.

I've already put a few of these resolutions into practice over the last few months. I've been forced to face certain fears head on for my own health and safety, it was frightening but obviously it had to happen and I'm glad I was brave during it, I had no idea I was that strong. I've also let go of grudges and am still in the process of letting the other pesky, remaining grudges go. It's not worth it - the people I'm holding the grudges against are not worth it.

I've definitely been more spontaneous this year than ever before but plan to push that to the next level. If you've seen 'Yes, Man' starring Jim Carrey then you'll know what I mean ;) I plan to say YES more and try not to say NO unless I really have to. When it comes to weight loss, well I'm 12kg down (yay!!) and have 10kg more to go. I know I can do it as I've lost more than that already!

I think the toughest resolutions will be to stop worrying about money and to really be myself confidently. I don't know why I worry about money when I do have savings (enough for several 'rainy days'), parents who love throwing money at me LOL and have a husband who earns a weekly wage...it's silly to worry over it and I have to stop. Same goes for worrying what others think of me. If they don't like me, f*ck them :) I absolutely resolve to be myself and NOT try to impress anyone. My family and friends love me for who I am - as do I.

I am funny, intelligent, witty, supportive, a good listener, affectionate, warm, caring, sarcastic and honest.  I will not be holding back for anyone any more. I had no idea how many people truly cared about me until I went through Hell (ie October and November 2011). My friends near and far, My parents and brother, my cousins from overseas, my husband - they all rallied together and got me through it. It's those people who deserve me at my best and that's what they'll get (and already get now) ♥.

That beautiful saying "Live as though Heaven is on Earth, Sing as though no one can hear you, Dance as though no one is watching and Love as though you have never been hurt before" is one that I am going to live by this year.

I plan on having a lot of fun in 2012! Happy New year everybody :)

My soundtrack to 2011.

This has been such a good year for new music - particularly for several Australian artists.

I have so many favourite songs that have come out over the last 12 months but I thought I'd narrow it down to a list. These songs have significant meaning for me as they've helped me through some of the best times of 2011...and some of the worst.

Each song has my personal meaning to it explained.
I'll try to keep this in order of events as they happened throughout the year.
_________________________________________________________________________________

March 2011

Foo Fighters - Rope.

"Choke! On a kiss. I thought I'd save my breath for you". Probably the most significant lyric of the song for me as it described how I (at the time) felt about someone I used to be very close with. I could (and still can) relate to this song due to it being quite descriptive of watching a very long friendship end. I was angry and hurt about what was happening, and because of that this song was music to my ears at the time.

Nicki Minaj - Moment For Life

I started exercising again for the first time since I became ill with Fibromyalgia in mid 2010. For those who know what Fibro is, you'll know exercise really isn't an option when you're suffering a Fibro flare. I was quite scared to start working out at first, I didn't want to bring on a flare or make the inflammation worse but I decided to give it a try as I didn't want to "become" my illness, I wanted to start kicking it's butt. I've been hooked on cycling ever since :) This song really describes what that incredible feeling of being able to MOVE again was like. Such an uplifting tune.

April 2011

The Script - If You Ever Come Back.

I'll never forget the time I first heard this song - the morning of Friday the 8th. Owen was asleep and it was about an hour after I found out that my beautiful, darling friend and her daughter had been in a terrible car accident. There was no news of either of their condition at this point. I was just sitting, staring at nothing and then this song came on TV.

"I'll leave the door on the latch if you ever come back. There'll be a light in the hall and a key under the mat if you ever come back. There'll be a smile on my face and the kettle on and it will be just like you were never gone.  There'll be a light in the hall and a key under the mat if you ever come back, come back now".

Those lyrics will always have a place in my heart. All I wanted was my friend back and I didn't know if she'd make it - but she did :) as did her amazing, inspirational, beautiful little girl and the tears I cry when I hear this song are no longer sad ones.

June 2011

Birds Of Tokyo - Circles.

This song has very similar meaning to both myself and my father. This song reminds him of me and what he saw me go through so many years ago, so it does have those dark undertones for me as well when I listen to it. However, I started listening to this song around one year after my Fibromyalgia diagnosis and at the time, another flare of my illness had just started.

"These dark days are getting harder, so will I sink or swim? Roll on, push a little further. I keep saying is this worth it, or should I just give in? I don't know. I don't know which way I'm supposed to spin in this circle...and I won't waste my time on your concern until it's over. I look back on a distant border, I fear I'm getting older. There's so much that I missed. Walk on following a faint line, see if I can define where I came undone".

Even reading those words without the music makes my heart sink. So I'll leave it there.

August 2011

Avril Lavigne - Wish You Were Here.

Lady Antebellum - Need You Now.

Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know.

Without going into too much detail (and keeping in mind that nobody's perfect), these songs are self-explanatory when it comes to why they appealed to me at the time with what was going on (my husband & friends know what this is about). VERY strange time in my life, that's for sure.

October & November 2011

Gotye - Heart's A Mess (3am Mix).

This song probably holds the most significant meaning of the list. It's not well known but is one of the most chilling, heartfelt songs I've ever heard. The feel of this song, the way it changes throughout it's 6 minutes, the way it progresses into different feelings - there's something spiritual about it.

As the last few posts of this blog indicate, October wasn't a good month for me. There were many, many sleepless nights where I was up alone - either in pain or just frightened. This song captures everything I felt during those long, drawn out 6 weeks. From the time the GP first felt something (ovarian cyst), to the many invasive tests that bought on post traumatic flashbacks of what happened to me when I was a teenager, to the blood tests that indicated possible ovarian cancer, to the heartbreak I felt every time I held my son & daughter, to the times I looked into my husbands & mothers eyes (who felt so very helpless). All of it. The nightmares, the tears, the times I would break down in exhaustion and frustration, the scans, the waiting - and waiting - and waiting. I've never had so much support in my life, but I've also never felt that alone in my life.

Foo Fighters - I Should Have Known.

This one's a little too painful to talk about in any great detail - even a decade after a friend's suicide. Let's just say I listened to this while having a few too many drinks on the 10 year anniversary of his death last month. One of those song's where one will never forget the first time they heard it.

December 2011

360 - Run Alone.

I absolutely adore this song - I heard this a couple of days after I was given the all clear from the doctors and it's impossible for me to listen to it without smiling :) Relief, joy, hope - happiness. That's the best way to describe this tune. I feel incredibly lucky every time I play this.

Lana Del Rey - Born To Die.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bag1gUxuU0g&feature=iv&annotation_id=annotation_887064

Even though I've revealed quite a lot about myself in my meanings behind these songs (really don't care what people think, I'm too old hehe) - I'd like to keep the meaning behind this one private. This woman's voice is incredible and her music makes the loss of Amy Winehouse a lot easier to deal with. Very refreshing and unique singer here.

Foster The People - Call It What You Want.

Having recently found out who counts and who doesn't ie - those who've been there for me the way I've been there for them and also having recently found out that 'backstabbing' and 'gossiping' aren't, apparently, just what high school students do...this song really speaks to me.

I know who I am, I love who I am and as one of the lyrics of this song states: "what I got can't be bought, so you can just call it what you want". I do have to admit, this is a song I find myself smirking at while I sing along to it. It's like my own upbeat, funky little "fuck you" to those who deserve it - but it also makes me feel more and more confident each time I listen to it. Ah, the power of music.

Gotye - I Feel Better.

This one's quite obvious, really :) I'm happy to admit that I belt this one out at the top of my lungs when nobody's home at the moment. Life's good, life's really good...and this song just makes it even better.

2011 - The end is near!

The end of the year that is - not the end of the world...well unless you believe in all that 2012 end of the world Mayan crap. Which I don't, personally.

What a year! To think it will end in just a couple of short weeks cements the feeling that this year has past extraordinarily quickly even though at times it felt like time stood still. It only feels like yesterday that my son turned 1 year old, however other events that took place feel like they were a lifetime ago.

March saw my son's 1st birthday party. April saw one of my best friend's and her daughter involved in a near fatal car accident. May saw my daughter's 9th birthday. July saw the first and last (touch wood) Fibromyalgia flare of the year which sucked but hey, it was 1 flare which is a big improvement on last year! August saw all synthetic Cannabis products banned in Australia - along with the downfall of 'Kronic'. September saw my husband being promoted at work (finally) and October saw my little boy start Daycare. The 17th day of October was the beginning of the most frightening 6 weeks I've ever lived through - but the 29th day of November proved to be the best day of the year by far. I found out I did not have cancer after myself, my doctors and my family were almost convinced I probably did. I don't think I've ever slept as well as I did that night.

That brings us to now - the 13th day of December. It's a sunny, Summer morning. Owen is enjoying himself at Daycare, Ant would just be arriving at work and I'm sitting here in the air conditioning, tunes blasting, sipping coffee and reflecting on how good life actually is. I wonder how I would feel right now if things were different - if things didn't turn out the way they did, if events listed above had different consequences and different endings. Some people would say not to think about that, but bollocks to them I say :) If we didn't think about those sort of things, frankly we'd never really be able to appreciate what we have.

I have my health. I have the most amazing, brave, incredibly strong friends who have overcome and do overcome so much. I have my family & husband who kept my spirits up when I needed them to. I have a wonderful little girl who'll be starting the 5th grade next year and a wonderful little boy who is thriving. I've achieved every goal I set out to this year, even when faced with some of the scariest stuff I've ever lived through.

This year has taught me to live in the moment, to stop being so organised, to try new things, to face fears and to let go a little. I've learnt that I can not control everything and I can now say that I'm honestly OK with that. Almost losing one of my closest friends and being faced with the possibility of not seeing my kids grow up has taught me to not sweat the small stuff.

My world came close to ending a couple of times this year and I lived through it... so bring it on, 2012!

Merry Christmas, everyone xo.

Merry Cyst-Mas!

Had my 2nd ultrasound this morning. The technician was far more chatty this time - and she didn't stop chatting...a damn good sign in my eyes. I opened the report a couple of hours ago, hoping for the best but expecting the worse. Well...

The cyst is GONE.

Words can't describe how I feel right now. I'll try anyway though LOL.

It seems complex ovarian cysts CAN and DO go away! This means no surgery, no more invasive testing (I hope?!) and the knowledge that there is no longer anything to fear or worry about. A load has been lifted.

The last 6 weeks have been a nightmare. Literally, there have been many nightmares which not only distressed me but also my husband who had to wake me up who knows how many times. I don't think I've had a decent nights sleep since all of this started. The physical side of things wasn't pretty...I'm still recovering physically as the bloating is still there, however now I know that I can exercise again, that will soon be taken care of.

The pain hasn't been anywhere near as bad in the last week, it was only a few days ago that I thought maybe the cyst was shrinking as apart from a few twinges here and there (and a fainting spell on the weekend), I've been feeling almost normal again. I must of been right as not only has the damn thing shrunk, it's gone! Both ovaries are normal in appearance and everything else is normal too. "Relieved" doesn't even begin to cover it. Like myself, my mother is over the moon.

I found this news out only a couple of hours ago and since then, I've done a 45 minute workout and belted out all my favourite tunes! It is so unbelievably good to be able to get on my bike again :) Cycling has become such a huge part of my life - not just for weight loss but for my mental health. It's like my own fool-proof, always reliable anti-depressant because it never fails to make me feel good. Not being able to exercise over the last 6 weeks has only added to the already very anxious, frightening time I've lived through. I have not, and will not waste any time in getting back to my life.

We still don't know what the cyst was (other than it was complex being both fluid filled and solid) - or what caused it. Right now though, I have to admit I really don't care. Right now, I feel great. Right now, I can live in the moment happily without worrying what's happening to me or what will happen in the future. I didn't expect this, my mother didn't expect this and I don't even think my doctor expected this. I'm pleased to say I know how lucky I am and that this has been a huge wake up call.

In the last few years I've overcome so many problems only to be faced with more. Being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (if you think it's hard to spell or say, try living with it) - having amazing friends who've faced  Cancer & serious car accidents...adapting to life as new mum, adapting to massive changes in my daughters life. Then to have the scary possibility of possible Ovarian Cancer thrown in (like I said in my last post, cancer is huge in my family) - it's safe to say things have been pretty crazy over the last few years. The thing is though that we're all still here, we're all still alive and we're all still living our lives, facing one challenge at a time.

The amount of love and support from my family, close friends (here and abroad) and friends I've never even met before has been nothing short of amazing. As horrible as the last 6 weeks have been, they've also taught me a huge lesson about myself and about others. I've learned I've got more patience than I realised, I've learned to let go because sometimes there's just no other choice, I've learned to keep my faith no matter what (right now, it's stronger than ever) and most importantly, I've learned not to take anything for granted. The mere possibility of not being around to see my children grow up or hold my husbands hand when we're old has been enough to open my eyes to what a beautiful world I really do live in.

I'm not scared any more - because even when it felt like my world was about to crumble, I had the most beautiful people on the planet ready to build it up again. There is now certainty when there was none before. Simply put, a scare like this is what I needed to realise that there is nothing to be afraid of, living my life the way I want to is not something I need to fear - it's something I need to embrace and be grateful for.

And I am.

Edit & Update: For those wondering, we now know what the cyst was. It was a benign complex ovarian cyst, most likely filled with something called sebaceous oil (the oil is what they referred to as the solid/dense material). It explains not only all of the pain and bloating - but the absolutely disgusting cystic pimples I've been getting on my chin. I've been told all of this will settle down over the next month or so while my hormones go back to normal. Really hoping that I can get most of these pesky zits off my face before Christmas....but hey, LOL, even if I don't....a few pimples is a lot better than cancer :) All other tests were fine except for a couple of small things - nothing is seriously wrong. WOO-HOO!!

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

All I want for Christmas.

When your entire life is turned upside down, all your goals are put on hold. As is everything you've worked for. Every laugh and smile doesn't feel right. Every time you answer the question "how are you?" with "fine" is a lie. Any sort of positive, constructive distraction doesn't last - and doesn't work. Looking into the eyes of the people who you love, and who love you, fills you with dread...because you simply don't know what the near future holds for all of you.

This is how being told "you have a 5cm complex, solid cyst on your left ovary" feels. The invasive testing, the weeks and weeks and weeks of waiting for further testing, the pain, the blood, sweat and tears, looking 6 months pregnant even though you're losing weight, having to apply more and more make up each day simply to make yourself look as well as you can because you look that sick. The sleepless nights, the knowledge that your family feel as helpless and scared as you do. The effort it takes to act like everything is OK in a vain attempt to keep everyone around you calm. The uncertainty. Imagine all of that, and then imagine how that feels when you're holding your baby boy in your arms as he smiles up at you, like you're the most important thing in his little world.

There are many things this could be. PCOS, Endometriosis, some sort of benign cyst. Then of course there's the possibility that it's something more serious. Cancer runs rampant in my family. My aunty is currently fighting breast cancer, my own mother beat Cervical Cancer 17 years ago. While I am hoping that I'll be lucky and this cyst will some how magically disappear, I'm also realistic enough to know that these sort of cysts rarely go away on their own and I'll most likely need it removed and then sent for a biopsy. So even after the damn thing is out, there will no doubt still be waiting involved.

Positive thinking helps - to a point. I have learnt over the last few weeks that there is a difference between positive thinking and deluding yourself into a false sort of hope. I've had many ultrasounds in my time, but I'll never forget the last one. I'll never forget the way that technician stopped talking and joking around with me so suddenly when she obviously saw what she saw before giving me that generic, almost practised "nothing to worry about" smile. I'll never forget my GP badmouthing the local hospital and how slow they were at even categorising me, let alone making an appointment for me. I'll never forget the 3 strangers in 1 week who asked me "how long do you have to go?" thinking I was pregnant. I'll never forget the way this feels. It's like walking around in the dark not knowing where the light switch is - and knowing that the light switch has quite a big chance of being broken. There are only so many times I (and others) can tell myself that everything will be OK before it starts sounding more and more unlikely after every bloody doctors visit.

Now, I'm getting this off my chest here because;

1) There may be other women out there who google complex ovarian cysts and this blog post may help them to feel like they're not alone in feeling the way they do.

2) I need to get this out somewhere. It's easier to vent online than it is to anyone in real life.

3) To educate those who find humour in this situation (I won't name names) that this, in fact, really isn't funny. How would you feel if you were sick and scared if someone made fun of you? if someone made jokes about it? How would you feel if someone/s thought your life being in utter limbo and on hold was somehow amusing? How would you feel (being scared as a partner and a parent) if someone made tasteless jokes at your expense during the most frightening time of your life? Think about it.  It's not funny. To think it is, makes you sicker than I am. The person this is directed at probably won't even read this blog entry but if he does, maybe he'll think twice next time. Plus it felt good to finally write that somewhere.

While I'm not allowing myself to be delusionally hopeful, I am optimistic. I do believe in the power of positive thinking. I know my chances of having this thing disappear are not good, but I'm still hopeful it might. I'm even more hopeful that if I do require surgery that I'll hear those magic words "it's benign" soon after the operation. In fact that's all I want for Christmas this year, those two magical, wonderful, happy words which would mean I could have my life back.
